As we continue to expand globally and onboard new customers around the world, a big focus has been on developing a more flexible tax model that allows our customers to support complexity and state tax configurations that are common in the United States.
In this release, we are excited to launch support for global sales taxes. Admins can read more about how to configure taxes in our Sales Tax Guide. Discover how taxes are applied at the booking level.
Another major update in this release is related to “Shareable Spaces.” A shareable space is a function space that can host multiple events at the same time. When creating a property’s function spaces, admins can now designate certain spaces as shareable. By default, a shareable space can have as many simultaneous events as the space’s configured capacity allows.
However, we also introduced the ability to “privatize” a shareable space. Let’s say a group calls and wants to buy out the entire restaurant or lobby bar. To that end, at the booking level, you can simply privatize a function space for the full duration of the booking event. Find out more about shareable spaces.
Another update in this release is to evaluate the status of a booking event in the overbooking process. For users who have access to overbooking, if the primary event in the overbooked space is confirmed, no additional events can be added to the space.
We now support the ability to overbook function spaces within a single booking. All users regardless of the overbooking permission are now able to book multiple events in the same room for a single booking.
We have listened to your feedback about the challenges you face with scheduling conflicts. A common scenario we have heard is:
A tentative booking for Apple has an event scheduled in the ballroom all day Monday, April 17th. This event is assigned in the ballroom and appears on the function diary, but since the booking is not confirmed, users with overbooking permission are able to add additional events to the ballroom.
Since the Apple event was the first to be scheduled, once Apple signs the contract and the booking is confirmed, any additional events will need to be moved to new function spaces. You can think of these additional events like a waitlist or a standby list.
To help facilitate this scenario, we have added automated alerts that will proactively let booking owners know when:
Two-way integrations with PMS providers ensure that your data is always up-to-date and clean. We include integration with Oracle Opera, Mews and StayNTouch. As you share your feedback, we continue to optimize the experience and take advantage of new features that our partners are releasing on their roadmap. Here are some of the features we have added to the Thynk platform to create a seamless experience where you can do your work in Thynk and trust that data is flowing with your other systems.
If you are interested in adding these buttons in Thynk today, please reach out to Thynk for support. In a future release, they will be available by default on all of the above pages.
With the introduction of custom combo products, you can now add combo products to a booking and modify quantities.
